It is important to understand the intention of the person who is projecting performance test results.

Data is neutral. But the way it is projected can be flawed.

Just like they say in statistics "lies, damn lies and statistics",

After completion of the performance test, all that we have is data.

Sometimes, data may be hidden and not shown in the results.

Sometimes, the comparison metric used may be flawed.

Sometimes, when an enhanced version of an existing product is released, often stated change is performance improvement.
